A new architect-designed summerhouse 300 m from the beach

Brand new architect-designed beach house in one of Hornbæk's oldest and best areas only 300 m from the beach. The main house has 4 bedrooms (2 with double bed and 2 childrens rooms) and 2 bathrooms, all build in the highest quality incl. the most fabulous joiner made kitchen. The annex has a double bed and it's own bathroom. This is a private beach house and hence it is NOT furnished with cheap rental furniture. The beach house is ideal when 2 - 3 families want to have vacation together, as the house is 150 square meters and hence have plenty of space for 10 persons.

The beach is in walking distance from the house and has been awarded as one of the best beaches in Denmark. The beach is very child friendly with shallow water and white sand. The beach is primarily used by the locals who have beach houses in Hornbaek. People who don’t live in Hornbaek use the beach by the harbor, hence there is somewhat more activity at that beach. The older teenagers often like to go to that beach.

The Harbor is very popular with the kids as well, as they can catch crabs from the boat walk. There are lots of small crabs between the rocks and the kids can spend a whole day lying on the boat walk and catching crabs. At the harbor there is also a very good fishmonger where you can buy delicious fish and seafood for the barbecue.

Hornbaek is a wonderful Danish beach village filled with people already from early spring. Hornbaek have a wide selection of shops as many people enjoy staying in Hornbaek all year round. There is also a wide selection of cozy restaurants in Hornbaek, where you can get everything from gourmet food to a good homemade burgers. Restaurant Strand Pavillionen is especially popular. They have a large terrace where you can enjoy the sun and get a great lunch and in the evenings they have a very popular barbecue buffet. Strand Pavillionen is also the place with the good parties, there is often live music and the wonderful long Danish evenings often turns into great parties at Strand Pavillionen.

I can also highly recommend a morning run by the beach to the neighboring town Droning Mølle and finishing off the run with jumping into the clear blue water.

There is an old delivery bike (A Long John bike) in the beach house which you are welcome to use, you can have 2 -3 kids on the lorry of the bike and take the kids with you to the ice cream house in the city which makes the most wonderful homemade waffles.

There are also many very nice neighboring towns. Tisvildeleje is like Hornbaek a very cozy beach village with good shops and a fantastic flee marked. Every Saturday during the summer they close down the big parking lot and convert it to a big flee marked. I can highly recommend a trip to the flee marked and a nice lunch at one of the cozy restaurants in Tisvildeleje.

The little local train called “the pig” passes just a few hundred meters from the house, it stops by the road and you can jump onboard. The train will take you to either Gilleleje or Helsingor. Both the trip to Gilleleje and to Helsingor is very beautiful. Gilleleje is a small fisherman’s village which is a little bit bigger than Hornbaek. Gilleleje has many good shops, restaurants and a fantastic butcher. I can highly recommend restaurant Brasseriet down by the harbor. They have great food and a lovely courtyard. If you take “the pig” the other way you will come to Helsingor. Helsingor is a really good alternative to Copenhagen if you need that city rush. Helsingør is about 10 km from Hornbaek and the biggest city close to Hornbaek. It is though not difficult to get to Copenhagen, it only takes 40 minutes by car from Hornbaek.

Hornbaek is also lovely in the fall and in the wintertime, there is very quiet up there and the nature is just amassing at this time of the year. There are so many beautiful walks by the beach or in the forest and a hot cup of coco in front of the fireplace after a long walk is almost a must.

We have often spend Christmas in the beach house, as it is easy to gather the entire family in the house. It is very cozy being able to enjoy Christmas together with the entire family in one house. During the Christmas period you feel the same energy in Hornbaek as during the summer, as many people come home from abroad to spend Christmas in their beach houses.

PRICE CALENDAR

Electricity, water, wood and cleaning is not included in the price. Electricity costs 3.00 Dkr. per kWh, water 75 Dkr. per kubicmeter, wood for the fireplace costs 100 Dkr. pr basket and the cleaning costs 900 Dkr. You can also clean the house yourself.

Discount on price can be negotiated if only a few persons are to use the house.
